Fredericton Chamber Welcomes Canadas former top General

(Fredericton, N.B.) – The Fredericton Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with TD Canada Trust will be hosting former Chief of Defence Staff General Rick Hillier as a special guest in Fredericton on October 15th, 2009.

“The Chamber is very pleased to be hosting General Hillier where he will be conveying his unique insights from having lead Canada’s military and how those experiences translate into good management principles in business,” said Anthony Knight, Chief Executive Officer of the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce.

General Hillier’s speech, entitled “Leadership in Challenging Times” will offer real life examples of the challenges facing the Canadian military and the strategies General Hillier employed as Canada’s Chief of Defence.

General Rick Hillier was Canada's Chief of the Defence Staff – the highest ranking position in the Canadian Forces – from February 4, 2005 to July 1, 2008. General Hillier served in the Canadian military throughout the world in a variety of capacities during his more than thirty years of service.

The dinner will take place at the Kingswood Lodge in Fredericton on October 15th, 2009. A reception will begin at 6:00 PM followed by opening remarks at 7:00 PM.
