pdfFredericton Chamber of Commerce Announces 2016 Business Excellence Awards Finalists

31 August 2016 For Immediate Release

FREDERICTON, NB – The Fredericton Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists for its 2016
Business Excellence Awards, which recognize outstanding business achievement and community involvement within the local business community. An awards dinner will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Delta Fredericton.

The 2016 edition of the awards features finalists in six categories as well as the recipient of the KPMG Resilience Award, which will be announced in the coming days.

“The Business Excellence Awards are a major highlight on our event calendar,” said Krista Ross, chamber CEO. “It is always an inspiring night filled with stories of success, perseverance, and community support. In many ways, it’s the personification of our organization’s vision Community Prosperity Through Business.”

Each year, the awards selection committee is chaired by the chamber’s immediate past president and includes members from the local business community as well as other stakeholders.

“It’s been a great experience chairing the Business Excellence Awards selection committee this year,” said Stephen Hill, the chamber’s immediate past president. “There were so many great candidates it was quite the task for the committee to narrow down to three finalists in each category. There is plenty of bad economic news in New Brunswick these days, but the number of quality and innovative businesses in our region is hopeful.”

The event’s platinum sponsor is McQuinn Media.

“I particularly look forward to the videos produced by McQuinn Media that highlight each finalist,” added Ross. “It’s nice to see business owners reflect on their journey and often provide helpful advice to other businesspeople in the audience.”
