Downtown Fredericton Inc. (DFI) is a nonprofit Business Improvement Area dedicated to sustaining and encouraging growth in the central business district of Fredericton, New Brunswick. DFI implements programs designed to revitalize, promote, and enhance the commercial viability of the downtown on behalf of our members in cooperation with private and public sector partners.
The Board of Directors of Downtown Fredericton Inc. is searching for their next Executive Director. The candidate must be a skilled and motivated leader with proven ability to build relationships, impact economic development and support the business community in Downtown Fredericton.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Executive Director works for the Board of Directors of Downtown Fredericton (DFI), and reports to the President.
• Responsible for development and implementation of policies, programs, and initiatives for the corporation.
• For ensuring the goals and objectives of the Board and its various committees are met in a timely and efficient manner
• Attends Board, executive and committee meetings.
• Collaborates with DFI members, municipal, provincial, federal government representatives, and business leaders to realize the goals and activities of the corporation in a balanced and sustainable approach.
• In consultation with the President, acts as a spokesperson for DFI to the public and media, representing the views of the Board and its members in a professional manner.
• Maintains financial control and oversight of the annual budget.
• Responsible for managing the daily operation of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• 3-5 years in a similar role.
• Exceptional vision combined with leadership and ability to implement strategies.
• Excellent strategic planning, presentation, and implementation skills
• Strong communication skills
• Background in working with community-based organizations and government agencies.
• Experience in financial management and budget preparation.
• Management experience that includes working with a board of directors and staff.
• University or College degree or diploma in a related field (ie: Business Administration) would be considered an asset.
Salary and Benefits:
$2,885 – $3,528 bi-weekly
