Dear members,
As a service to our members and the local business community during the pandemic, for the previous 2+ years, we had been distributing COVID rapid tests supplied by the provincial government.
Although the active phase of the pandemic is over, we had been continuing to distribute tests to those who wanted them.
In light of new reporting by Global News, which calls the reliability of the particular tests we were provided with most recently into question (BTNX Rapid Response COVID-19 Antigen) and more specifically which indicates a higher-than-expected risk of false negatives, effective immediately, the Chamber will no longer distribute COVID-19 rapid tests.
We advise anyone currently in possession of these tests to note their lack of reliability and act accordingly.
