Volunteer Outreach Coordinator

Major Responsibilities
The Volunteer Outreach Coordinator reports directly to the Volunteer Manager and requires communication with all staff to ensure an understanding of skills and requirements required for each department & volunteer role. Diplomacy and patience will be required. This is a contract position and the Volunteer Manager must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, particularly during the 2022 East Coast Music Awards: Festival and Conference, May 4 – 8, 2022.

Develop a recruitment strategy to engage 250+ volunteers
Raise awareness and engage the community by organizing volunteer rallies, engaging other volunteer organizations and community groups
Work with the Volunteer Manager to determine specific areas of volunteer expertise and recruit accordingly.
Manage volunteer general and specific inquiries, including assistance with volunteer database software.
Work closely with Volunteer Manager on-site to assist with volunteer training, rescheduling, and overall management, as required.
Work with Volunteer Manager to coordinate food and beverage needs for volunteer centre, off-site venues, Volunteer Thank You Party, working within the approved budget and with designated partners.
Performing other duties as may be required by the ECMA Management team

Qualifications:
Have strong organizational and admin skills, detail-oriented with a strong ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
Be reliable, hard-working, flexible, conscientious, and a team player with a positive attitude.
Proven interpersonal and leadership skills.
Be creative, resourceful, flexible, and take initiative.
Demonstrate problem-solving capabilities, be able to assess and handle difficult situations.
Previous experience working with large groups of volunteers
Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience working with Better Impact Volunteer engagement software considered an asset.
Specific experience with, or knowledge of, the regional music scene, and multi-event operations is also desirable.
Bilingualism an asset.
