Position Overview

Based in Fredericton the New Brunswick Medical Society (NBMS) is the voice of the medical profession in New Brunswick, providing province-wide representation and advocacy for all physicians. As the provincial division of the Canadian Medical Association, the NBMS exists to represent physicians and advocate for the health of New Brunswickers.

Reporting to the Chief of Physician and Patient Engagement, the Digital Media Specialist plays a significant role in the Medical Society of New Brunswick’s (NBMS) brand and digital marketing. The Digital Media Specialist is responsible for the planning and executing all NBMS integrated marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate will be a leader in brand strategy and digital media/advertising/engagement and have extensive experience working with budgets and producing exceptional results.

The Digital Media Specialist effectively contributes fresh ideas and innovative solutions for the organization, members and stakeholders. This individual is an effective communicator, detail oriented and is reliable, discrete, and conscientious.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • create and execute the digital marketing plan; ensuring the NBMS brand is consistent across all channels internally and externally in English and French
  • campaign planning from start to finish, including research, analysis, creative concept development, recommendations and analytics including social media reports
  • develop and manage annual content calendar, social media posts and report on engagement metrics
  • brief external agencies, such as designers, ad agencies, printers
  • manage NBMS and related websites
  • manage digital edition of OpusMD magazine
  • proficient in WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Survey Monkey and Zoom

Position Location and Hours of Work

This position is located in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Normal business hours are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Additional overtime hours can be expected and are usually predictable and planned well in advance.

Flexible to travel within the province of New Brunswick and maintain a valid driver’s license

Qualifications

Education:

  • related post-secondary education in business administration, marketing or communications

Experience:

  • proven experience and success in campaign management, specifically in developing marketing campaigns
  • strong project management/advertising agency experience
  • experience conceptualizing and executing projects through their full lifecycle
  • experience in the development of marketing and project plans as well as in the management of external agency delivery and select committees

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • written and spoken competence in both official languages is preferred but not mandatory
  • excellent writing skills as you will regularly write copy for marketing promotions
  • possess the expertise to work within a budget, meet deadlines for multiple projects and ensure ROI on campaigns and projects
  • effective communicator, adept at presenting detailed factual and conceptual information on issues that require explanation and interpretation
  • recognized for your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize deliverables
  • reliable, discrete, and conscientious
  • effectively contribute fresh ideas and innovative solutions for your organization and members and stakeholders
  • value a positive work culture and camaraderie with your colleagues
  • ability to work hard and have fun
