Job Overview:
The Newcomer Employment Services offers a variety of services to enhance understanding of the Canadian labour market work culture. The Employment Services Manager lead a small team of Employment Coaches to assist newcomers, pre-arrival and post-arrival, to successfully apply their skills in the Canadian work force.
The Newcomer Employment Services Manager will be responsible for the operational success of MCAF Employment programs ensuring unified team management, team development, program delivery, quality control and evaluation. They will work in collaboration with other leads and community partners and key stakeholders to achieve smooth operation of the Employment Programs. The successful candidate will enhance the Employment Services Programs to facilitate the integration and full community participation of newcomers in the community
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with the MCAF Executive Director, admin staff, program staff and community partners to create and submit to various funders, core and enhanced employment programs funding proposals.
• Collaborate inter-departmentally with other Program Leads to case manage vulnerable clients
• Establish, monitor, and report targets for various Employment programs and ensure they are met or exceeded
• Compile and prepare statistical & narrative activity and target reports to various funders
• Supervise program delivery and staff, provide feedback and evaluate performance
• Research and support initiatives that enhance efficiency and productivity of organizational procedures and staff
• Ensure all staff are aware of and adhere to organizational policies, program delivery and reporting requirements
• Provide ongoing training, mentorship, support and guidance to staff
• Work with HR and staff teams to resolve and mediate conflicts that may arise with clients or coworkers in constructive manner
• Work with community partners and all settlement staff to ensure effective and culturally sensitive service delivery to newcomers.
• Facilitate representation of the MCAF employment programs on the appropriate local, provincial and national advisory and program development committees.
• Ensure employment team works with local employers and network to build connections and for newcomers to build their network
Requirements:
• University Degree in a relatable field with emphasis on human/social services;
• Several years of experience as a lead or department head
• Excellent listening, writing, and speaking skills – French language skills would be on asset;
• Proven ability to take initiative, be creative and autonomous;
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and soft skills
• Strong problem solving & conflict resolution skills
• Effective team development and management skills
• Strong time management, project development and organizational skills
• Resilient with ability to thrive in a dynamic multicultural environment

Terms of employment:
• Contract – renewable pending continuation of funding and satisfactory job performance
• Hours of work – up to 40 hours full time
