Job Title Warehouse Manager
Job Description Overall Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible to the Senior Manager of Services or their designate for the overall day to day operations in place for the receiving and distribution of foodstuffs and other products and for the staff and volunteers working therein.

These duties include but are not limited to the following:
• To ensure that all staff, assistants and volunteers working within the warehouse and outside within the grounds, are fully aware, understand and sign off on all health and safety policies, whether Provincial, Federal or Municipal. These may include personal safety standards, equipment operating procedures and the wearing of appropriate clothing and footwear.
• To mentor and assist the Warehouse Associate in his/her job duties.
• To ensure that all policies and procedures are readily available to all personnel and maintained in an easy to access area and form.
• To ensure that any accidents, maintenance or safety concerns are documented and reported to the Executive Director in a timely manner for possible follow up.
• To ensure that all perishable and non-perishable foodstuffs are stored in the correct manner, following all Federal and Provincial guidelines for the correct storage of foods and other items.
• To track stock levels on a weekly basis and to submit to the Senior Manager of Services anticipated shortages of such items.
• To maintain and submit records of all donated foods and to “value” donations for submission to accounting on a monthly basis.
• To coordinate with others, the pickup and delivery of all food and other items and the delivery of emergency baskets, mobile runs and church drop offs.
• To be part of the monthly Health and Safety committee and to ensure that minutes of these meetings are posted and reviewed with all volunteers and staff members.
• To ensure that all assistants and volunteers read, are conversant with and adhere to the volunteer handbook guidelines.
• To work closely with the Intake Support Manager and the Volunteer Coordinator.

Other responsibilities and duties:
• The supervision and direction of all staff, assistants and volunteers working within the food distribution centre.
• To ensure that all assistants and volunteers follow “work safe” guidelines and that the warehouse is maintained in a clean and neat fashion and that no safety hazards are present.
• To work closely with the Volunteer Co-coordinator to ensure sufficient volunteers are in place on a daily basis, schedules are posted and that tracking and documentation of volunteer hours is maintained.
• To train all assistants and volunteers in the setting up of regular and specialized food baskets, school snacks, produce bags and choice packs in accordance to established guidelines and availability of foods. The submission of monthly reports to the Executive Director, documenting amounts of each taken.
• To oversee client food choices on food basket pick up days.
• To be present on food basket distribution days to welcome clients, ensure that scheduled volunteers and assistants are present and for general discussion with clients.
• To ensure that all pick up slips are checked, signed off and returned to Administration for processing.
• Schedule and host regular meetings, with staff, assistants and volunteers, to inform them of any upcoming changes or requirements and for any special days held on site.
• To ensure, that at end of shift, the warehouse area is secured.
• To perform other duties as directed by the Executive Director or designate.

Budget Management:
• Assist with the development of operating budgets for the warehouse.
• To calculate weekly / monthly warehouse operating costs and budget projections.
